Eduard Oskar von Reyher

General-Lieutenant Oskar von Reyher served as a Royal Saxon
divisional commander during peacetime. Launching his career in 1850, Oskar first
went into battle against Prussia in the Austro-Prussian War of 1866.
In recognition of his bravery during the
Battle of Königgrätz, he was awarded the Ritterkreuz (Knight's
Cross) of Saxony's highest military order - the Militär-St-Heinrich-Orden.
During the Franco-Prussian War of 1870-71, von Reyher temporarily
served as Chief of Staff in Prince Georg's XII. Armeekorps headquarters. After
retiring in 1894, he was brevetted as General der Infanterie.
