Prince of Prussia
and Royal Prussian General of Cavalry Friedrich Wilhelm Ludwig served
as divisional commander and Inspector General of the First Army. He was
the son of Prince Friedrich Ludwig Karl von Preußen and Princess Friederike von
Mecklenburg-Strelitz. He was thus the nephew of King of Prussia
Friedrich Wilhelm III, as well as Friedrich Wilhelm IV's
cousin.
Prince Friedrich was commander of Leib-Kürassier-Regiment
Großer Kurfürst (Schlesisches) Nr.1 from 1815
until his death in 1863. He additionally commanded 20th Infantry
Division in 1820 when the Rhine Province became part of Prussia.
