Generalleutnant Fidel von Baur-Breitenfeld (also Baur von Breitenfeld) was
Württemberg's War Minister in 1849-50. He headed provisionally what, at the
time, was referred to as the Kriegsdepartement, wearing the rank of
Generalmajor. After he was replaced in 1850 by Moriz von Miller,
Baur-Breitenfeld continued military service as Chief of General Staff and
adjutant to Wilhelm I. King of Württemberg. During the Austro-Prussian War
of 1866, he functioned as chief of staff in commander Prince Alexander von
Hessen's 8th Army Corps (VIII. Armeekorps - Deutscher Bund).
