Prussian field marshal and Army
Inspector General who commanded troops during the campaigns of 1866 and
1870-71. After the war, he commanded X. Army Corps and was promoted to
field marshal in June 1888. The was later elected Regent of
Braunschweig where he ruled from 1885 to 1906. He was laid to rest at Schloß Kamenz
in Lower Silesia.
