Director of the General War Department in the Prussian War Ministry.
His son Wolf Louis Ferdinand von Stülpnagel commanded XIII. Armee-Korps
during the Franco-Prussian War of 1870-71, while
his grandson Ferdinand Wolf Konstantin von Stülpnagel was commander of
V. Armee-Korps at the turn of the century.
