General von Horn served in the Prussian Army under King
Friedrich Wilhelm III. He was born in Lower Silesia, the son of Johann
Christian von Horn and Maria Becker. He commanded a brigade under
General Yorck von Wartenburg, which took part in the Russian
Patriotic War of 1812, and also saw action in the War
of the Sixth Coalition in 1813. He ultimately was appointed
commander of VII. Armee-Korps headquartered in Münster, a posting he
held until his death in October 1829.In 1828, he had been decorated with
Prussia's highest order of chivalry, the Schwarzer Adler-Orden (Order
of the Black Eagle.)
