Prussian general officer Oktavio von Boehn entered
military service in 1840 as an officer in the 9. Infanterie-Regiment in
Kolberg. As a battalion commander in the Kaiser-Franz-Regiment fighting
in the Austro-Prussian War of 1866, Major von
Boehn was awarded the Pour le Merite order. He
also commanded an infantry regiment during the Franco-Prussian
War of 1870-71, where he was wounded during the battle of St
Privat-la-Montagne.
As a brigade commander, Generalmajor von Boehn submitted
his resignation from the Prussian Army in 1876 but was denied. He
instead progressed on to command Prussia's 21. Infanterie-Division in 1880 and then
Prussia's VI. Armee-Korps in 1888, when he was promoted to General der
Infanterie. His brother Julius was also a Prussian general.
