Prince Günther Victor reigned over Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt from 1890 through 1918. He also reigned over the principality of Schwarzburg- Sondershausen in a "personal union" from 1909 through 1918, at which point he assumed the title of Prince of Schwarzburg. He was in a childless marriage with Princess Anna Luise of Schönburg-Waldenburg, and abdicated on 22 November 1918. The Prince held the military title of Chef of Infanterie-Regiment Nr.71.
