Paul Bloch von Blottnitz was a Prussian general and artillery specialist who commanded the 18th Infantry Division during the Great War. In March 1918, Bloch was killed in action in northern France.

During the pre-War years and as a 40-year old field artillery officer, Bloch deployed in June 1900 on board the S.M.Y. Hohenzollern to China. The Prussian forces were a contingent of the Eight Nations Alliance, formed in order to pacify the so-called Boxer Rebellion. Hauptmann Bloch von Blottnitz served there as the commander of the Marine-Feldbatterie, a unit attached to the Ostasiatisches Feldartillerie-Regiment.
