Konstantin Julius Friedrich Eduard von Altrock
(27.08.1861 - 02.04.1942)
place of birth:  Breslau
Königreich Preußen:  Div-Kdr,  Generalleutnant

General Konstantin von Altrock served as a division-level commander during the Great War. Born into a military family, Konstantin entered active duty in 1881 and spent most of his early career with 3rd Guard Grenadiers in Berlin-Spandau or at Great General Staff headquarters. Altrock headed up three different infantry regiments prior to his selection as 60th Infantry Brigade commander in Alsace. It was with this unit that General von Altrock went to war in August 1914, first in Lorraine, then in Flanders and the Yser area. He began commanding at the infantry division level in early 1915 and was finally promoted to Generalleutnant in December 1917.

Following the Armistice, von Altrock remained active in the Berlin chapter of the German Officer's Association (Deutscher Offizier Bund) and was also the editor of Militär-Wochenblatt, Germany's leading military service journal.
