Imperial German general von Dickhuth-Harrach was at War's outbreak in command of troops assigned to Fortress Thorun. He later led his namesake Corps during the 1915 Siege of Nowo Georgiesk. The corps, in fact just a reinforced division, was comprised of the 143th Infantry Brigade and heavy artillery under the command of Colonel von Berendt. Dickhuth later penned the book - Im Felde Unbesiegt (Undefeated on the Field of Battle).
